03 Jun Through The Eyes of Jesus
from The Syrian Circle Leadership Team
To be honest, we were caught off guard by how wide and how fast the circle of prayer for Syrians and their nation spread. We’ve been buoyed by your faithfulness to pray, reading the powerful prayers on the prayer wall, your encouraging reports of how God is speaking to you about next steps and the answers to prayer we are seeing.
As we’ve entered the 5th month of posting prayer points, God has been speaking to our team about the future of The Syrian Circle. And ‘if’ – then ‘how’ do we move forward in an even more powerful way to encircle the Syrians in prayer and build channels for our faith responses. As we’ve sought the Lord in prayer and discernment, we are committed to enlarge the circles of intercession for this holy opportunity of the ‘Kairos in the Chaos’.
We need your prayers for continued wisdom in how the Lord wants this accomplished. Please pray with and for us this week. Please let us know if during your times of prayer He gives you insight into the questions we are asking. The questions we’re asking God are:
How do we press into His heart not just for the Syrian people, but all the other groups this crisis is impacting as it has become a more regional conflict than was initially thought?
How do we capture and encourage the responsive action steps that God is stirring among His people?
How does God want to fund what he’s asking of us – to continue enlarging The Syrian Circle?
Who does He want to add to our team so that we might be more responsive to those in the Circle, find ways to enlarge the circle, and keep up the pace of learning about the changing regional situation?
By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established(;),
and by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.
A wise man is strong, and a man of knowledge increases power.
For by wise guidance you will wage war, and in abundance of counselors there is victory.
1. Pray this week as if seeing through the eyes of Jesus – for those impacted through the Syrian conflict. Remember how you would want to be prayed for if you were a refugee, without home, job, means, country – and hopeless unless God intervened. (Review other weeks’ prayer points if needed.)
2. Lord, your word says, “by wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; and by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.” Would you give The Syrian Circle team wisdom from your heart in how to move our prayers to action?
We also seek you, God, for your guidance in the questions we’re asking. Because prayer is waging war against a powerful enemy – we ask you to send wise and strong men and women as counselors. Give us knowledge not readily available to others – to increase the power of our prayers for this human conflict for you say: A wise man is strong, and a man of knowledge increases power. For by wise guidance you will wage war, and in abundance of counselors there is victory. (Prov. 24.3-5)
