first a bit of
PERSPECTIVE
In most respects refugees are no different than you and I. The young refugee men love to make music or talk about soccer when in a light mood. Women and young girls still giggle about boys, and children still play mischievous pranks on older siblings. There are doctors, business people, restaurant owners, and teachers in the mix. People who have worked through college, built families and homes, enjoyed holidays and had hopes and dreams. Now they need grace from the global community.
“Do not mistreat an alien or oppress them.”
~Exodus 22:21
“He [the Lord your God] ensures that orphans and widows receive justice. He shows love to the foreigners living among you and gives them food and clothing. So you, too, must show love to foreigners, for you yourselves were once foreigners in the land of Egypt.”
~Deuteronomy 10:18-19
