17 May Persecuted
first a bit of
One refugee man used to be an Imam (a well respected and powerful Islamic religious leader) in his own country until he became a Christian. Then everything changed. He was deeply persecuted for his faith. His family, friends, and community beat him to the brink of death. He was cast out of his country. TV stations and newspapers in his country declared that anyone who found him should kill him. He was imprisoned, kidnapped, and nearly killed numerous times in his attempt to find safety. Even in Europe he continues to receive death threats. He is severely persecution because of his dramatic conversion away from Islam and towards a life with Christ–and this is only one man’s story. He desires for others to know the truth of Jesus Christ.
“Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.”
Pray for Christians who are suffering, and in some cases dying, for their faith in Jesus. Pray that God would be glorified through their courageous faith and that he would miraculously protect His children.
