20 May Women and Children
first a bit of
Meet 19-year-old Malak and 23-year-old Hana, two sisters from Yemen who have lived as refugees for nearly half their lives. Malak was only 12 when the sisters lost both of their parents in Yemen… and they have been traveling on their own ever since.
Like these sisters, many women are traveling alone with children and recently unaccompanied minors have even been increasingly traveling as refugees. These are extremely vulnerable populations, because without a home and without someone to offer protection, women and children are prey to coercion, abuse, and in some cases even human trafficking.
“Do not mistreat an alien or oppress them…do not take advantage of a widow or an orphan. If you do and they cry out to me, I will certainly hear their cry.”
Pray for protection for the most vulnerable refugees; women and children. Pray that they find support and safety at each point along their journey. Pray for them in the night and pray for them in the day.
Thank you for your faithful prayers!
